King County Information Technology’s GIS Center is hiring a Senior GIS Applications Engineer to build and modernize GIS applications, automated workflows, spatial analysis, and data systems used across county government. The role includes redesigning legacy workflows, migrating ArcGIS Enterprise from on-premises to Azure, developing Python and SQL Server-based automation, creating documentation and training, and applying AI-assisted GIS tools. The position requires at least four years of applied GIS experience, strong programming and spatial analysis skills, and experience with Esri technologies; it is hybrid, primarily based in Seattle, Washington, with a Monday–Friday schedule and rotating after-hours support.
