Description
Outpost is hiring a Senior GNC Engineer in Playa Vista, California for an in-person role focused on guidance, navigation, and control for reusable Earth-return vehicles and related space logistics systems. The engineer will own the full GNC chain, from designing guidance and estimation architecture to writing flight code, executing hardware-in-the-loop tests, supporting drop tests and flight campaigns, and iterating based on flight data. The role requires significant GNC or controls experience, programming in C++ and Python, familiarity with tools like Git/Jira/CI pipelines, and strong knowledge of dynamics, modeling, simulation, and classical/modern control. Additional experience with optimal control, satellite maneuvering, attitude determination and control, flexible body control, orbital maneuvering, and navigation filtering is preferred. Compensation includes a $160,000-$205,000 salary, bonuses, equity, and comprehensive healthcare benefits.
