Description

Atoms is hiring a Senior Hardware Reliability & Environmental Test Engineer to establish hardware qualification standards and own reliability and environmental testing across its robotics platforms. The role covers qualification requirements, design verification, environmental and accelerated life testing, field-data analysis, test equipment and external lab management, DFMEA and reliability analysis, and supplier qualification. It requires a relevant engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience, 10+ years of hardware reliability or design validation experience, and onsite work five days per week in San Francisco with travel to production and field sites.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, materials, or a related engineering field; equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for the degree.
Required Previous Experiences: Deployed fleet experience in autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, or robotics.
10+ years of hardware reliability, environmental testing, or design validation experience with electromechanical and electronic hardware.
End-to-end ownership of environmental and accelerated life test programs across multiple products or programs.
Experience defining reliability or qualification standards used by multiple teams and driving adoption across teams outside the reporting line.
Experience deriving test profiles from measured field data, including instrumentation, data acquisition, and post-processing.
Proficiency in DFMEA, fault tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, reliability growth, and Weibull analysis.
