Description

AECOM is hiring a Senior Heavy Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and implement heavy mechanical systems for hydroelectric power plants and water-retaining structures, including gates, stoplogs, trash racks, lifting mechanisms, winches, cranes, and material-handling systems. The role serves as the senior technical authority, performs or supervises calculations and equipment selections, prepares and reviews engineering deliverables, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, supports construction through shop drawings, RFIs, inspections, and commissioning, and mentors junior engineers and technicians. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, at least six years of relevant hydroelectric heavy-mechanical design experience, OIQ membership or immediate registration eligibility, and excellent French proficiency; English proficiency, AutoCAD or Revit experience, and multidisciplinary team experience are preferred. The role offers hybrid work options and does not provide Canadian work-permit sponsorship.
