Description

Jefferies is hiring an experienced Java-focused data and backend engineer for its corporate Investment Banking Technology and CRM/Analytics team. The role involves building and maintaining cloud-native, event-driven data distribution platforms and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, SQL, Kubernetes, and related technologies. Responsibilities include full software development lifecycle participation, cross-functional alignment, coding, testing, release, support, and innovation. The position requires 8+ years of hands-on experience and a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and delivering Java-based APIs and microservices with Spring Boot and AWS
Experience designing and developing complex, scalable, high-performance Kafka streaming applications
Experience with SQL, stored procedures, functions, and data warehousing
Experience developing TDD/BDD unit tests and collaborating with QA on defect triage and resolution
Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on AWS EKS, with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Financial services or investment banking domain exposure
Salesforce or similar CRM ecosystem exposure
Business intelligence tools such as Tableau CRM, Cognos, or Power BI
Exposure to MuleSoft, StreamSets, or Databricks
Strong multitasking ability and quick learning
