Citi is hiring a Senior Java Platform Engineer to lead the engineering and modernisation of a global check payment platform. The role owns production Java microservices, event-driven distributed systems, data architecture, performance engineering, legacy modernisation, AI-powered engineering practices, platform security and compliance, and the engineering roadmap for the Check Processing pillar. It requires at least 10 years of software engineering experience, including 5 years in people management or senior engineering leadership, along with extensive Java, Kafka, database, cloud, and microservices expertise. The position is full time, hybrid, and available across Irving, Texas and Tampa, Florida, with a primary location in Tampa and a salary range of $141,440 to $212,160.
