Description
Elastic is hiring a Senior Java Developer to join its Elasticsearch team and develop the Inference API, which integrates Elasticsearch with internal and external machine learning services. The role focuses on maintaining and extending the plugin framework and REST API, including protocol design, streaming, asynchronous execution, billing integration, schema negotiation, error normalization, task configuration, rate limiting, and provider-level settings. Responsibilities also include reviewing open-source contributions, collaborating with inference and Kibana teams, participating in on-call rotation, and writing unit and REST integration tests. The position requires at least five years of production Java experience, strong knowledge of core Java and concurrency, API design experience, and the ability to work autonomously in a distributed team.
