JPMorgan Chase is hiring a Sr. Lead Software Engineer for its Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology, Core Blockchain Team. The role leads the design and implementation of microservices and blockchain solutions, including decentralized applications and cryptographic protocols, while ensuring performance, availability, security, and operational stability. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, code reviews, AI-assisted engineering practices, and driving adoption of secure development standards. The position requires formal software engineering training or certification, at least five years of applied experience, distributed-systems and blockchain development experience, strong programming and API skills, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and experience leading AI-assisted software development practices.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus a degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 5 years of applied software engineering experience.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for traditional distributed systems.
Practical experience developing on blockchain platforms such as Ethereum or Hyperledger.
Hands-on experience with application programming, backend API development, and distributed microservices infrastructure using Solidity, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Experience with cryptographic principles, encryption algorithms, key management, and key wallets.
Experience with cloud infrastructure services such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
Experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and establishing validation standards for AI outputs.
Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on responsible AI usage patterns and controls.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in financial markets.
Experience designing and writing Solidity smart contracts using Hardhat, Truffle, and Slither.
Hands-on experience with AWS, EKS, and Docker.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration and deployment tools.
Familiarity with blockchain interoperability solutions.
Experience with relational database management systems.
