Description

Enigma is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their Match Team. The successful candidate will enhance the intelligence of Enigma's data products and the systems enabling customer access, focusing on improving relevance, latency, and scalability of data products. This role involves leading efforts in information retrieval, ranking systems, semantic search, and distributed systems, working across the entire product lifecycle.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of experience across machine learning, software engineering, data science, or data-intensive product systems
Demonstrated applied, production-level expertise in <strong>two or more</strong> of the following technical domains: information retrieval, ranking systems, NLP/embedding models, or distributed systems.
experience designing, fine-tuning, and operating high-scale backend systems, APIs, or data delivery platforms
Preferred Qualifications: deep experience with our core stack (Typesense, Python, AWS) or similar retrieval infrastructure (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, FAISS)
built customer-facing search or recommendation systems or APIs
worked on query understanding, embeddings, LLM-powered retrieval, or hybrid search systems
mentored senior engineers or data scientists and raised the technical bar across disciplines
