Mercado Livre is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Special Projects to design, evolve, and scale secure machine learning and artificial intelligence systems. The role focuses on an autonomous optimization platform, expanding AI research coverage, establishing performance standards, ensuring reliable and reproducible evaluation across domains, translating application configurations into safe experimentation environments, and architecting boundaries between automated optimization and human intervention. The position requires experience in machine learning engineering, AI platforms, applied research, and experiment evaluation, along with expertise in generative AI, large language models, Python, SQL, BigQuery, data pipelines, task orchestration, and large-scale machine learning infrastructure. It offers a hybrid work arrangement at Mercado Livre's Osasco, São Paulo site in Brazil.
