Description

Torc is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Camera Models to develop, train, evaluate, and deploy deep learning models for camera-based perception in autonomous truck systems. The role owns end-to-end model development, scalable training and inference pipelines, dataset quality, model reliability, and integration with perception, simulation, and validation teams, while also mentoring junior engineers. The position is available in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Blacksburg, Virginia; or remotely in the United States, with a full-time hybrid or remote work arrangement and a US pay range of $177,300 to $212,800.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical field with 6+ years of industry experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with 3+ years or a PhD with 1+ years of experience.
Required Previous Experiences: Experience developing and deploying deep learning models for computer vision or perception systems
Experience writing production-quality machine learning code in Python and PyTorch
Experience training and evaluating models with large-scale datasets and distributed compute environments
Experience debugging model behavior, analyzing performance metrics, and improving model reliability
Experience collaborating cross-functionally to integrate machine learning models into autonomy or robotics systems
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or simulation-based machine learning systems
Experience with multi-task learning or unified perception architectures
Experience with large-scale data pipelines, distributed training systems such as Ray, or experiment management frameworks
Familiarity with camera calibration, geometric reasoning, or 3D perception from images, including BEV, monocular depth, and structure-from-motion
Experience deploying machine learning models into production or real-world robotics systems
