America Makes is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Research Engineer to support the development and maturation of adaptive and additive manufacturing supply chains. The role involves facilitating workshops, documenting and analyzing technical information, preparing manuscripts and presentations, public speaking, and leading discussions. Responsibilities also include understanding manufacturing technology, systems engineering, defense acquisition, risk management, quality assurance, data management, technoeconomic analysis, and professional development. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, at least seven years of experience in additive or advanced manufacturing, defense-industry experience, manufacturing-technology development and qualification experience, technical project or engineering-program management, multidisciplinary team leadership, and experience with government contracting and proposal writing.
