Description

ShadowObjects, LLC is hiring a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer for an on-site role in Dahlgren, Virginia. The position leads mechanical and electromechanical design, analysis, testing, manufacturing processes, technical documentation, and engineering projects for complex systems in a Department of Defense environment. Candidates must hold an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, be U.S. citizens, and have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline plus at least eight years of mechanical design and engineering experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
Required Previous Experiences: At least eight years of mechanical design and engineering experience, including design, manufacture, and testing of mechanical assemblies
Experience developing manufacturing processes and modifying equipment for fabrication, assembly, and installation
Experience with solid modeling and finite element modeling techniques
Experience performing mechanical and thermal stress analysis
Experience using SolidWorks, PTC Creo, and Microsoft Visio for system design and documentation
Experience developing technical data packages in accordance with DoD standards
Experience with extreme power internal combustion engines and systems
Experience in shock and vibration modeling and simulation
Experience with HALT and HASS methodologies
Background in design for manufacturability
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting DoD or defense-related programs
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently and lead technical efforts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
