Description
Rocket Lab is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer II for its Space Systems team in Pasadena, California. Working onsite with Rocket Lab Robotics, the engineer will lead the design and development of precision space robotics, mechanisms, electromechanical assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment from concept through analysis, procurement, assembly, integration, environmental testing, qualification, and flight delivery. The role requires strong SolidWorks, GD&T, tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, aerospace materials and manufacturing knowledge, and experience leading complex high-reliability hardware programs, technical reviews, vendors, and cross-functional teams. A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience are required, including 3+ years as a responsible engineer or technical lead.
