Description

Array Tech, Inc. is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Sustaining to lead the development, improvement, and support of solar tracker components and systems. The role covers engineering change requests, root-cause analysis, redesign, product roadmaps, design reviews, testing, reliability and safety assessments, and mentoring, using CAD, FEA, DFMA, DFMEA, SolidWorks, and stage-gate processes. The position may require occasional evening and weekend hours and travel to project sites, laboratories, and suppliers.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years developing mechanical components and systems for new products
8+ years performing mechanical engineering hand-calculations
8+ years designing structural components, hardware, gearing, and/or drivetrains
8+ years using FEA, DFMA, and design for cost in new-product development
5+ years using 3D CAD software
5+ years defining design validation tests
4+ years working in a stage-gate product development environment
2+ years using SolidWorks
10+ years using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication and team-building skills
Organizational and time-management skills
Experience in the solar industry
Experience with steel, aluminum, and polymer fabrication methods
Ability to work in a fast-paced, smaller-company environment
