Description
Applied Materials is hiring a Senior Photonics Platform Hardware Qualification & System Product Design Engineer in Shanghai to support the development, qualification, and productization of a next-generation photonics platform. The role combines hands-on module and system qualification, calibration, troubleshooting, and technical escalation with ownership of mechanical and opto-mechanical design, including CAD, BOMs, GD&T, FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up. The engineer will support acceptance testing, production documentation, NPI, prototype builds, and ramp to mass production, collaborate with global cross-functional teams, and travel approximately 10–20% internationally. The position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science field and 6–10+ years of experience in hardware development, photonics systems, opto-mechanical design, or platform engineering.
