Newsweek is hiring a Senior Editor for its U.S. newsroom, reporting to the US News Director. The role runs the national news desk during peak coverage, makes final editorial decisions, leads aggressive rewriting and second-day rewrites, handles breaking news and sensitive stories, mentors reporters and junior editors, and monitors audience and competitive performance. It is a full-time position with a 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. ET schedule, rotating weekend shifts, and remote or hybrid work in New York City; the position may also be worked remotely anywhere in the United States. The salary range is $100,000–$110,000 commensurate with experience.
