McMaster-Carr is hiring a Senior Offensive Security Engineer to build and operate an independent security assurance capability within Internal Audit. The role uses penetration testing, adversary emulation, and purple-team techniques to evaluate whether cybersecurity controls, monitoring, detection, and incident-response processes work against realistic attack scenarios. The engineer will develop test plans, assess enterprise systems and cloud environments, translate technical findings into risk-based remediation recommendations, and maintain an independent yet collaborative assurance program. The position requires at least five years of relevant offensive security experience, a four-year college degree, and strong communication and scripting skills; compensation is $170,000-$250,000 plus profit sharing, and the role is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
