QuEra Computing is hiring a Senior Optical Engineer to serve as a senior individual contributor in its Hardware Engineering Group. The role involves architecting optical systems and components for neutral-atom quantum computers, coordinating with physicists and R&D teams, advancing engineering practices, and troubleshooting systems at headquarters and customer sites. Candidates should have graduate-level education in optics, optical engineering, or applied physics, 5–8 years of non-academic experience designing optical and opto-mechanical systems, and expertise in free-space optics, modulators, electronics, lasers, characterization, ultra-high vacuum, and laboratory instrumentation.
