Axion is hiring a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to lead agile backend teams and build scalable AI-powered systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and LLM-powered or agentic workflows. The role focuses on transforming unstructured customer data into structured outputs, improving reliability, observability, and performance, and making foundational technical decisions. Responsibilities include designing distributed systems and data-processing services, operating containerized applications on a major cloud platform, supporting production systems, and mentoring engineers. The position requires at least six years of professional software engineering experience, including production backend or data-intensive systems, along with knowledge of data warehousing, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, and cloud deployment.
