Description
Sezzle is hiring a Senior Payments Engineer to own and scale backend services for its acquiring and payment-processing stack. The role focuses on authorization, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, chargebacks, dispute handling, and resilient distributed transaction processing using Go, payment processors and gateways, PCI DSS controls, and observability. The engineer will partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, Support, and other engineering teams, mentor teammates, and occasionally lead small project teams. The position requires 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, meaningful payments or fintech experience, hands-on use of Claude or an equivalent LLM, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field; the compensation is $5,000-$9,500 USD per month gross, and the role is full-time and remote.
