Sezzle is hiring a Senior Payments Engineer to own and scale backend services for its acquiring and payment-processing stack. The role focuses on authorization, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, chargebacks, dispute handling, and resilient distributed transaction processing using Go, payment processors and gateways, PCI DSS controls, and observability. It requires 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, meaningful payments or fintech experience, hands-on use of Claude or an equivalent LLM, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. The position is full-time and remote, with compensation of $5,000-$9,500 USD per month gross.
