John Deere is hiring a Senior Perception Engineer for its ISG product engineering team in Santa Clara, California. The onsite role develops and maintains perception capabilities across the autonomy stack, including C++ systems, sensor interfaces, data pipelines, applied machine learning models, and real-time debugging. The engineer will optimize embedded and edge compute performance, improve code quality, collaborate with robotics and systems teams, and contribute to engineering culture. The position requires at least three years of professional software engineering experience, substantial modern C++ experience, applied machine learning expertise, sensor-data pipeline experience, and strong debugging skills. A bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is ideal, while a master’s degree and perception, machine learning, or robotics software architecture expertise are preferred. The role offers a base salary of $124,584 to $186,864 plus benefits, flexible work arrangements, and no visa sponsorship.
