Airalo is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and evolution of its global eSIM platform serving more than 30 million users. The role focuses on distributed systems, scalability, service-oriented architecture, code quality, caching and database strategies, and mentoring mid-level engineers. It requires 7+ years of PHP backend experience, enterprise application experience in Laravel or Symfony, distributed-systems expertise, SQL and NoSQL knowledge, AWS and Docker experience, and fluent English. The position is fully remote anywhere in the United Kingdom, permanent, and includes an on-call rotation with standby fees and overtime pay.
