Description

RecargaPay is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead platform modernization efforts, driving improvements in business continuity, best practices, and developer experience. The role involves defining architectural strategies, implementing GitOps and Cloud-Native orchestration, managing observability and security, promoting AI-assisted engineering, optimizing FinOps, and enforcing technical governance. This position operates both hands-on and strategically, working with executive leadership to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions on AWS.

Required Previous Experiences: Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering
Deep knowledge of Bazel build systems.
Deep, practical experience with core services: EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, Networking, and Security.
Advanced experience with Terraform (modules/policy enforcement) and Pulumi (multi-language stacks).
Deep knowledge of EKS, including Karpenter for scaling, Istio for service mesh, and Argo/Flux for GitOps.
Mastery of reliability patterns (circuit breakers, retries, back-pressure, stress tests, application architecture) and SLO-driven operations.
Proficiency in OpenTelemetry design and integration with New Relic, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Proven experience building Internal Developer Portals and ephemeral environments.
Expertise in GitHub Actions, Flagger for progressive delivery, and feature-flag governance.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to translate complex business goals into long-term technical direction.
Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and mentor technical leaders.
High degree of ownership with a bias for action in fast-paced, large-scale environments.
Active contributor to feedback loops, ADR/RFC hygiene, and continuous learning.
Real-world experience in critical workloads and regulated environments (ideally Fintech).
Ability to translate compliance controls (PCI-DSS, LGPD) into automated technical patterns.
