ABB is hiring a Senior Power Electronics Engineer for its Critical Power product group in New Zealand. The role leads the design, development, validation, testing, and continuous improvement of high-power converter systems for UPS, energy storage, grid-connected, and other industrial and utility applications. Responsibilities include defining converter architectures and control strategies, developing VSI and CSI topologies, using semiconductor and simulation technologies, leading root-cause investigations, and mentoring junior engineers. The position is onsite in Auckland or Napier and requires a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline plus at least 8 years of power electronics design and development experience.
