Roche/Genentech is hiring a Senior or Principal Machine Learning Scientist for its AI for Drug Discovery group’s Foundation Models team. The role leads scientific reasoning systems, large-scale machine learning models, training and evaluation infrastructure, and the translation of biological and chemical knowledge into machine learning objectives. The Senior Scientist focuses on technical implementation and mentoring, while the Principal Scientist defines long-term roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives. A PhD in a quantitative field, extensive LLM and deep-learning experience, strong software engineering skills, and a strong research publication record are required; molecular-modality experience is preferred. The position is based in San Francisco or New York City, with relocation benefits not available.
