Description

Apex is hiring a Senior Propulsion Engineer to design and integrate propulsion modules for spacecraft at scale. The role owns mechanical design, structural and thermal interfaces, component installation, manufacturing and production support, build and test activities, and technical mentorship. Candidates need a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant mechanical or aerospace engineering experience, or a Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, along with expertise in structural analysis, CAD, GD&T, launch-environment hardware, and spacecraft integration.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field
Required Previous Experiences: 6+ years of relevant mechanical or aerospace engineering experience
Substantial experience in structural design and hardware installation/integration
Experience installing and integrating discrete spacecraft hardware into structural assemblies
Experience working with manufacturing and production teams to transition designs into hardware
Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience with spacecraft propulsion modules, feed systems, or propulsion component integration
Experience designing spacecraft or aerospace hardware for serial or high-rate production
Familiarity with electric propulsion components and their interfaces
Experience with propellant feed-system routing, fluidic components, and contamination control
Experience collaborating with component design teams on hardware and system integration
Experience supporting environmental qualification testing
Experience supporting flight hardware through integration, qualification, launch, and/or on-orbit operations
