Description

Senior engineer responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, and production operation of a real-time data platform. The role focuses on Apache Flink streaming and CDC pipelines, Kafka and Kafka Connect, database and warehouse sinks including PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, and BigQuery, and production reliability through observability, troubleshooting, tuning, and delivery guarantees. It also includes Kubernetes-based deployment, technical direction, code reviews, and mentoring.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 5 years of professional software or data engineering experience with strong Java expertise
Production experience building and operating Apache Flink stateful streaming pipelines
Strong production Apache Kafka experience, including Kafka Connect, consumer groups, partitions, delivery guarantees, and schema management
Hands-on experience with Debezium or Flink CDC
Production experience designing and operating Kafka-to-Flink-to-database or data warehouse pipelines
Experience deploying and operating production data workloads on Kubernetes
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing production streaming systems
Preferred Qualifications: TimescaleDB, hypertables, and time-series data experience
PostGIS and geospatial query optimization
Advanced ClickHouse performance tuning, including MergeTree and partitioning
BigQuery optimization and data modeling
Flink Kubernetes Operator and autoscaler tuning
ArgoCD, Helm, GKE, Prometheus, and Grafana
High-throughput, low-latency real-time systems at scale
