Description

Canva is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer in London to own the data foundations for multimodal agent research. The role builds and maintains data pipelines, storage and retrieval infrastructure, evaluation datasets, annotation and synthetic-data tooling, quality-monitoring systems, and test coverage for large-scale training workflows. It requires strong Python software engineering, ML DevOps, prompt engineering, distributed data processing, cloud and distributed storage, and collaboration with research scientists. The position offers a hybrid arrangement with the option to work from home and collaborate in person at the London campus.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience building production-grade data pipelines and ML DevOps
Experience with prompt engineering for LLM/VLM outputs
Experience with large-scale ML data workflows, including data processing, loading, versioning, and training formats
Experience with data pipelines for large-scale distributed ML training
Experience with annotation tooling and human-in-the-loop data collection
Experience loading and writing large datasets to AWS and distributed storage systems
