Description

Diligent is hiring a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to design, build, review, test, and evolve secure, scalable SaaS applications and services. The role focuses on backend architecture, RESTful APIs, web applications, technical delivery, production deployment, and collaboration with Product, QA, DevOps, Security, and other engineering teams. The position requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong Ruby on Rails expertise, experience with APIs, DevOps-oriented secure software delivery, SQL, Git/GitHub, and mentoring skills; it is a hybrid role based near one of Diligent’s office locations.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Production-grade Ruby on Rails backend or full-stack application delivery experience
Experience designing secure software with DevOps, infrastructure as code, and automated delivery practices
Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling
Preferred Qualifications: AWS-based systems and cloud deployment patterns
Message queues, asynchronous processing, or event-driven integration patterns
CI/CD, containerization, observability, and production service ownership
Modernizing legacy Rails applications or platform evolution
