Apple is hiring a hands-on individual contributor to own SAP HANA database performance for its Shanghai team. The role analyzes production workloads, diagnoses performance problems through SQL plans, system views, traces, and resource behavior, and drives root-cause fixes. Responsibilities include SQL tuning, HANA internals, scale-out behavior, workload and capacity management, HA/DR testing, change review, database housekeeping, measurement baselines, and cross-functional collaboration. The position requires at least eight years of database or performance engineering experience, deep SAP HANA expertise, SQL tuning ability, diagnostic tool proficiency, Linux and infrastructure knowledge, HANA high availability and disaster recovery experience, production incident ownership, scripting ability, and professional English and Mandarin proficiency.
