Xebia Functional is hiring a Senior Scala Engineer to lead and participate in high-level architecture and planning, build scalable distributed systems, deliver professional advice to clients, maintain code quality through reviews, and author technical proposals and root-cause analyses. The role requires at least five years of professional experience, strong Scala and functional-programming expertise, enterprise REST API experience, production AWS experience, distributed-systems knowledge, and familiarity with asynchronous programming and Kafka. The position offers remote or office-based flexibility and does not provide work-visa sponsorship.
