Description
Differential is hiring a Senior Scientist, Upstream Fermentation R&D to build wet-lab capabilities and deliver customer projects across probiotics, specialty chemicals, and related microbial applications. The role leads microbial cultivation, media and assay development, research planning, data capture for AI-ready datasets, and collaboration with automation and bioinformatics teams. It also involves mentoring junior scientists and maintaining SOP and QA standards. The position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in microbiology or a related field, at least three years of industrial or translational microbial fermentation research, and regular in-person presence at the Freising campus or the downtown Munich lab.
