Description
The Senior Search Engineer will build the retrieval layer for product discovery in commercetools’ PaaS ecommerce Scala backend. The role combines lexical, semantic, and hybrid search, ElasticSearch and MongoDB libraries, relevance measurement, scalable infrastructure-as-code on Kubernetes with Terraform, testing, and production on-call support. Candidates need at least five years of software engineering experience, JVM production experience, REST API and scalable architecture knowledge, Scala or functional programming interest, English fluency, and multi-tenant SaaS experience. The position is hybrid, with three days per week in Munich, Berlin, London, or Valencia.
