Description
The Senior Search Engineer will build the retrieval layer for product discovery in commercetools’ PaaS ecommerce Scala backend. Responsibilities include developing lexical, semantic, and hybrid search capabilities; creating ElasticSearch and MongoDB libraries; improving search relevance and quality; maintaining scalable infrastructure as code on Kubernetes with Terraform; testing software components; and participating in on-call rotation. The role requires at least five years of software engineering experience, JVM production experience, REST API and scalable architecture knowledge, Scala and functional programming interest, English fluency, and experience with multi-tenant SaaS and event-driven architectures. The position is hybrid, with three days per week in Munich, Berlin, London, or Valencia.
