Xero is hiring a Senior Engineer in Security Defence to design, build, and operate security capabilities that detect and respond to threats. The role focuses on detection, monitoring, response workflows, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, cloud security, automation, threat intelligence, control effectiveness, and the safe use of AI in security engineering. It requires hands-on production security experience, programming or scripting skills, cloud expertise, and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives. The position is based in Auckland or Wellington and offers a hybrid working model.
