Description

Ridgeline is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer in San Ramon, California or Reno, Nevada. The role owns security for specific cloud platforms and services, including AWS architecture and network security reviews, guardrails, access management, workload protection, observability, CI/CD security, and secure platform integrations. The engineer will also develop security tooling, share security practices through reviews and pairing, and collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience, at least five years of relevant cloud security or platform engineering experience, advanced proficiency in a high-level language, and strong AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD expertise. The typical starting salary is $149,000 to $250,000, with additional stock and employee insurance benefits.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of relevant experience in cloud security or platform engineering, including independently leading complex initiatives and collaborating with adjacent teams
Experience with AWS, including IAM, networking, compute, data persistence, logging, and monitoring
Experience designing and implementing access management strategies and IAM/SCP policy frameworks
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced proficiency in Python
Kotlin or TypeScript
Familiarity with network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and traffic segmentation
Contributions to security tooling, open source projects, or published security research
