Description

SqlDBM is hiring a Backend Engineer to build and extend the AI infrastructure powering its enterprise data modeling platform. The role owns backend services for natural-language data modeling, context-aware intelligence, automated documentation, API integrations, request routing, governance workflows, and Model Context Protocol servers. It requires 5+ years of C# and .NET backend experience, REST and asynchronous service expertise, LLM API integration, and experience with structured data systems. The position is fully remote, reports directly to senior leadership, and offers base salary, equity, and direct product impact.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of backend engineering experience with C# and .NET
Experience integrating with external APIs and managing complex data pipelines
Experience building systems that handle variable, structured data, schemas, or metadata
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data modeling, database design, or data engineering tooling
Familiarity with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or dbt
Background building developer tools or platforms used by technical teams
Experience with agentic AI workflows, tool-use patterns, or AI infrastructure
Knowledge of semantic layer concepts, ontologies, or structured metadata systems
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol and MCP servers in agentic AI architectures
