Description

Blue Origin is hiring an AI Platform Engineer to own the sustaining engineering, feedback triage, and new capability development of an enterprise-wide AI assistant supporting New Glenn development and operations. The role maintains production AI workflows, models, data quality, guardrails, and release processes; develops new AI-assisted workflows; tests and fine-tunes models; and mentors partner development teams. It requires strong software development, AI/ML, Python, SQL, and enterprise-systems experience, with a stated base pay range of $197,529.00 to $276,539.55 for Virginia and Washington applicants.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of professional software development experience focused on AI and machine learning in production environments
Ownership of a production software product through its full sustaining lifecycle, including on-call or user-facing support
Experience building and operating LLM-based or agentic applications in production
Experience with Git-based development workflows, code review, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience integrating with enterprise engineering and business systems via REST or GraphQL APIs
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Deep understanding of AI/ML models, algorithms, and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Proficiency with SQL, Python, and Power Query; familiarity with VBA
Experience analyzing large data sets and tracking hardware throughout a part lifecycle
Experience integrating AI solutions into large-scale software systems and infrastructure
Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
