SLAC is hiring a Software Developer for its Experiment Control Systems Engineering and Design team to develop, maintain, and own Python and C/C++ applications and automation scripts that control complex scientific instrumentation. The role involves translating experimental requirements into reliable software, troubleshooting EPICS-based control systems, contributing to public and private software packages on GitHub, and leading engineering processes and technical direction. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and eight years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience, along with strong Python, PyQt, C/C++, Git, and project-management experience; EPICS, Linux, and control-systems experience are preferred.
