Description
Workday is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer on its AI Foundations team to design, build, and operate production-grade backend services, APIs, data ingestion and ETL pipelines, and distributed systems that support AI-powered applications and agent workflows. The role owns services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, debugging, on-call, and operational improvements, while partnering with product, research, and infrastructure teams. Candidates need at least 8 years of professional software development experience, 5 years of Python development, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, and expertise in Python, distributed systems, APIs, ETL, cloud platforms, and container orchestration. The primary location is Boulder, Colorado, with additional United States locations, and the role offers a hybrid work arrangement requiring at least 50% office or field time per quarter.
