Description

Meltwater is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to build, maintain, and improve high-traffic Node.js platform services covering authentication, permissions, provisioning, and other foundational capabilities. The role focuses on performance optimization, technical debt reduction, observability, production reliability, architecture, and cross-functional collaboration, with a transition from JavaScript to TypeScript. The position is based in Mexico City and starts ASAP.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience building and maintaining backend services in production environments
Experience working with high-traffic or business-critical systems
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Jasmine
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
Experience monitoring, debugging, and operating production systems
Experience leading projects, features, or technical initiatives
Experience partnering cross-functionally with product and UX teams
Preferred Qualifications: GraphQL experience
AWS experience with Lambda, EC2/Beanstalk, SNS/SQS, and S3
Terraform experience
Kubernetes exposure
Experience owning shared or platform-level services
Background in authentication, authorization, or identity systems
Experience refactoring legacy systems or consolidating services
