Description
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and ship core components of an agentic platform for commercial engineering and AI. The role owns features end to end, including orchestration, tools and skills, grounding, evaluation, observability, model routing, and SDK surfaces, while collaborating with AI Foundry, Microsoft Research, Substrate, and Copilot. The engineer will contribute to responsible AI, production-grade quality, code and design reviews, and peer mentoring. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least four years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, plus Microsoft Cloud background-check eligibility. Preferred qualifications include experience with agent-based systems, major agent stacks, AI-native development, evals, observability, and safety. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 119,800–234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
