Description
Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Windows + Devices Fundamentals team to lead data-driven systems that improve Windows device reliability, performance, responsiveness, battery life, memory efficiency, and overall health. The role involves defining metrics and measurement frameworks, architecting and operating scalable backend services and telemetry data pipelines, analyzing large-scale diagnostic signals, investigating regressions, and building automation, AI-assisted analysis, dashboards, alerts, and diagnostic workflows. The engineer will provide technical leadership across Windows, data science, security, silicon, OEM, and service teams, mentor engineers, and influence engineering investments. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least 8 years of technical engineering experience, along with substantial backend, data engineering, distributed systems, telemetry, and Windows-related experience.
