Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable data analytics and insight platforms that process petabyte-scale Bing and MSN logs. The role focuses on designing reliable data processing architectures, fault-tolerant pipelines, dashboards, metrics, anomaly detection, data quality, and governance using Azure and open-source technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, EventHub, HDFS, and Azure Blob. The engineer will also apply AI tools across coding, testing, data processing, and validation, collaborate with data scientists and product managers, and support real-time and offline search-related analytics. The position offers a U.S. base pay range of USD $119,800 to $234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
