Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineering IC4 to lead the development of next-generation Azure SmartNIC and networking software, including RDMA, virtualization, offload technologies, and high-performance networking. The role involves architecture and technical execution, cross-functional collaboration with hardware, firmware, silicon, and cloud service teams, reliability and performance improvements, and influence over networking platform strategy. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least four years of technical engineering experience with C++, C, Java, or Python; equivalent experience is accepted. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, additional years of experience, and expertise in networking, Linux, distributed systems, hardware-software integration, and production reliability.
