The Backend Software Engineer will develop and maintain APIs, microservices, data pipelines, database schemas, ETL processes, and scalable infrastructure supporting data science and AI workloads. The role collaborates with data scientists to productionize machine learning models, ensures backend reliability and security, participates in code reviews, troubleshoots technical issues, and writes maintainable code. It requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least five years of backend development experience, proficiency in Python and Java, and experience with APIs, databases, containerization, cloud platforms, version control, CI/CD, and mentoring. The position is expected to be performed from the office, with compensation determined by experience, skills, and geographic location.
