Description

UpGuard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own a feature area within its Product Engineering team, leading technical design from product conversations through production and mentoring engineers. The role focuses on cybersecurity, reliability, scalability, and performance, using React, TypeScript, Go, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant engineering experience, strong TypeScript and React skills, backend experience with Go, relational database skills, and experience leading technical design and mentoring engineers. The position is fully remote, with physical offices in Sydney and Hobart but no mandatory attendance.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies

Experience mentoring engineers and improving code and decision quality
Preferred Qualifications: Cybersecurity experience
Experience running services on Kubernetes, ideally on Google Cloud Platform
Experience building complex applications or systems from the ground up with a cross-functional team
Experience owning a production service, including on-call and observability
