Nutrient is hiring a Backend Engineer to design and implement high-performance Elixir/Phoenix systems for its Document Engine and Document Web Services API. The role focuses on efficient PostgreSQL usage, query optimization, indexing, batching, zero-downtime migrations, production troubleshooting, and AI-assisted engineering. It requires backend and distributed-systems experience, production PostgreSQL expertise, cloud and containerized-deployment familiarity, and an AI-native approach. The position is fully remote and async-first, with periodic in-person team meetings.
